Who are you?

We are The Wise Guys.

The Wise Guys (TWiG) was founded in 2003 by a handful of graduating high school seniors in an attempt create a space to rant, lampoon, blast and mock things and people humorously.

TWiG traces its roots back to a wager between a student and his Information Systems teacher in late 2002. The teacher believed that a solid foundation and "business" like structure was needed to create a popularly visited website. The student, however, believed that you could put pictures of animal carcasses (or, rather, a humor site) on the web, without structure or foundation and still develop a strong following. In the end, the teacher won, but the initial site set up the foundation for TWiG.

TWiG had the writing and ranting stylings of kids under the pseudo names of Admiral Thrawn, The Guy of Guys, Burdman, King Awesome, Lady Kai, and Southern Belle. Such popular sections included "This Time in History," "The 50 States," and "Me, Myself, and I" (material of which was later to be stolen by Stephen Colbert, that miserable wench). The site also included random rants of all sorts of topics using, of course, a humorous slant.

After a solid two-year run, the site folded.

Now, two-years after the fold, TWiG is attempting to make a comeback. Under the tutelage of the artists formerly known as Admiral Thrawn, Burdman and King Awesome, TWiG has returned in the form of a blog.

This is more or less a test run. If we find this to be as (if not more) successful than our original shot, then we'll re-develop the site. If not, we're perfectly content with the blog. We'll have the same humorous slant and quasi-worldly edge as always, and we'll hope you enjoy the ride.
